There are several parts of Long Island sound with significant blocks of ice cutting off fishing for many birds.  <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1233\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 500px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vincentmistretta.com\/blog\/signs-of-winter\/snow_1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1233\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vincentmistretta.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SNOW_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"SNOW_1\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vincentmistretta.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SNOW_1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.vincentmistretta.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/SNOW_1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Snow Covered Boulder<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But there is a silver lining to this cloud.  The weather conditions have presented many great opportunities to make images that we don&#8217;t often have in a normal winter.
