Photo Journal: Nosy Bear
May 27, 2024 | Kodiak, Alaska
After a nap on the salt marsh this female decided she would come investigate what our photography group was looking out!
Our guide Hiram, from Rohrer Bear Camp, had to calmly yell "that close enough bear". And as if Dr. Dolittle did the speaking, the bear decided to do an about face and change direction. All the while the group remained very calm. I love attending wildlife trips with Moose Peterson because you not only learn about photography but you receive a wealth of knowledge about animal behavior and how to respect their habitat and their lives. We hear regularly from Moose that we are "guests in their home". Sadly, this behavior is not always followed by other photographers to the detriment of all of us.
